A Success Story!
Judy had returned home to enter therapy following the shattering
experience of many failed attempts to get her doctoral dissertation
proposal accepted (her field was Rehabilitation Counseling).
Somehow, she found herself enrolling in my class on research proposal
development for masters students in marriage and family therapy.
As the class progressed, she began to create a new proposal using
the materials she had utilized in her previous failed attempts.
The more she responded to my encouragement and to the simplicity of my
approach, the more excited she became! A few months after the class ended,
she submitted her new proposal to her dissertation committee and it was
approved! But the story doesn’t end there! She submitted a separate
proposal for funding to a national agency and got a $30,000 grant to
support her dissertation research! Finally, after graduating with
her Ph. D. degree, she applied for and received another $30,000 grant
to do post-doctoral research in her same field!
